What's up?

I feel so busy these days and am {ok, I'll admit it} having a hard time keeping up with everything.  Not sure what the deal is since "being busy" isn't out of the ordinary for me.  But that's okay, I know how to take things in stride.  Day by day.  One {super awesome fun!} project at a time.

This week I'm focusing on a handmade baby gift for a friend of mine who's baby shower is at the end of the month.  She likes the bright pink and black zebra stripe theme, so I'm going to put together a pink and black handmade gift bundle for her.

I contracted my talented mom to make these sweet little Mary Jane's in black and white.  She's thinking about adding a sweet little pink flower too.  I can't wait to see them when they're finished!

pinned a bunch of stuff this week for handmade gift and shower ideas, and plan on starting something tonight.

What's your go-to baby shower gift?

  1. I tend to pick something for the child to grow into. I once picked a really nice table lamp shaped like an animal that gave off a very low light- good for Mama and baby for those late night feedings and changings. I once picked a little step stool which I thought would be handy for years.

Other times I have gone the traditional route and picked onesies because a baby can never have too many changes.

I do, however, love the things pictured.

  3. The Mary Jane's are so gorgeous! I must admit I usually do the bootie thing as so few people seem to know how to make them nowadays... but there are so many great patterns around!

  4. I still have all the handmade booties that people made for Milo when he was born. It's such a sweet, traditional gift. Oh my god, I can't wait to post the photo of the Mary Jane's that my mom made. They are indescribably cute! Stay tuned :) 'chelle
