It's a girl!

I've been blabbing on for awhile now about making a baby shower gift, haven't I?  Sawry.  It seems like every project I do now stretches out across a couple of weeks, instead of overnight or in a lickity-split afternoon like they used to.  Whatever works, I guess!

I'm really excited for little Gracie to arrive, and I was just excited to make a handmade gift to welcome her into the world.  Especially since I could get all girlie with it, ha!

Since I messed up the blanket I was going to make her {out of one-of-a-kind vintage fabric } I had to come up with a last minute Plan B gift.   Jessica really likes the pink and black zebra theme, so I decided to go with that.

I found a pre-made, black and white zebra print dress.  Then, using a die cutter, I embellished it with pink and black zebra fabric.

I bought a Silhouette SD from a friend last fall, and believe it or not, this is the first time I've made an attempt to use it.  Although the dress turned out pretty cute, with more experience using the die cutter, I probably would have done it completely different.  Do you have a die cutter?  What would you have done differently?  Tell me all your secrets :tee hee:

Remember the inspiration photo for the baby Mary Jane's that I contracted my mom to make?  Well, because she's such a badass with the needles, she did it her way and added these awesome flowers and pearls!

I'm kind of having difficulty describing how great I feel about them!  They are so soft, so tiny, so well-made.  And girlie to the max!  Thanks mom!

Here's a picgture of Jessica, the soon-to-be momma.  She doesn't even look preggo!  Just cute.  Really, really cute.

I don't know if you saw this on facebook or not, but here's the gift after I wrapped it.  I'm nerdy and thought it was so cute I had to take a picture, haha.

I'm going to show you how I made the topper in a couple of days, so stay tuned!
