Last week I stumbled across a blog post at Wildmind.org that posed the question, "What do you think about while DIYing?" and I've been thinking about it ever since.
I mean, like reeally thinking about it. Mostly because I was drawing a blank. What DO I think about while I'm working on a project? And why, for the life of me, can't I think of a single thought that's run through my brain during one of the most project-filled weeks I've had in a long time?
So I gave it a rest and went back to my projects. Somewhere in the middle of pounding snaps and painting pedestals I stopped thinking about my thoughts and just thought them.
After some time I realized that all of my thoughts were of family and friends. There were feelings of concern, happy memories of being a kid (probably inspired by the fabric I was using), and some full-on arguments in my head.
It was only then that I was able to think back to other big projects I've worked on in the past and remember thinking those same types of thoughts.
I was a bit surprised by this! I thought for sure I'd have been thinking about new creative projects, or of this idea, or that crafty solution.
What do you think about when you're DIYing?

I don't know! I'll get back with you~
ReplyDeleteWow...great question. I have no idea. I'm going to try to notice what I'm thinking the next time I craft. :)
