a mini makeover

I couldn't believe it when I saw this framed print at the thrift store on Wednesday!

Not only is it faded, not my style, and something I would never ordinarily buy for my home, but it had a wood frame that is the exact size I needed for my vintage tea towel!

After putting Milo to bed I perused my paint shelf to see if I had the supplies I needed to give this poor thing a makeover.
Sure enough, I had white primer, ultra white latex paint, a sponge applicator, a paint brush, a paint can opener and stir stick.

I'm with ya: there's not much to priming and painting so you won't find any secret tips and tricks here.

But I DO recommend not doing it at 10 p.m. in the light of your porch bulb with nose-diving bugs mistaking you for their late night snack.

no more dull, brown wood frame!

I couldn't figure out a way to hang it near my green door without moving around other stuff and making too many holes to patch.  So I put it here..

Nice and safe from my 2 yr old Grabby McGrabster

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!  I've been sewing and taking lots of photo's up here at mom's.  Talk soon!
